I don't have a mock up of the finish quilt with the Santa's but I do have it without. Each Santa will hang over into the borders to add interest. If this is something that you don't like you will need to make the center block bigger and you have to redraft the pine trees or adjust the other block inner borders.
I will be flying out to Memphis for Thanksgiving with my son and his family next week so I won't be back for at least two weeks for Part 2. Hopefully I will have all the blocks ready for applique before I leave and will be able to sew a little while gone. If you don't hear from me until after I come back:
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Another fabulous start to a great design. I love your designs and am becoming quite the fan!!
ReplyDeletethanks
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this Santa. I have tried to pring it but am having trouble. It will print the small pictures on the left but not the large picture. Any hints on what I am doing wrong. I'm not real great with this computer stuff. Thanks, Betty
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, Betty. It's always a pain when these things happen. I would have to be with you to really know what is wrong. I will try. Click on the picture and it will take you to the PDF file. Click "file" and then "download". After the file is downloaded, click "file" on the downloaded file. Either click on "save a copy" or "print". "Save a copy" will allow you to store the PDF on your hard drive to print any time you want. I personally prefer to save the file so that I don't have scads of paper floating around to get lost. If this doesn't help, I would as a help from a computer savvy friend.
DeleteIt is printing out the santa to be 6 and one fourth inches is this right?
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, Ugh!!!I have now fixed the PDF file to be 6.5 Sorry, sorry, sorry!!!! Just click on the picture and it will take you to a revised PDF. Please test this and let me know if it is still wrong. M

That is so cute, I just might do that one this year. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou have added another project to my list, thank you...will start cutting out this afternoon. Happy Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so cute...thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteReprinted it and it is fine now. For the person having trouble printing it out you have to right click on the printer symbol and it works then. At least that worked for me when it was only printing part of the page.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the cute santa.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get started. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this cute pattern.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Germany, Jutta
Thanks for this nice pattern.
ReplyDeleteHello Marjory! This is such a cute pattern - Thank You! But I have a question for you... Do you hand stitch your appliques? It looks like you have turned under on the pieces in the picture, and I am just wondering how you did that? As you can tell, I have not done much when it comes to applique but I do love the look.
ReplyDeleteCarol, You are right the edges are turned under in the picture but not sew yet. I hand applique using freezer paper templates to help turn the edges under. Go to this blog: http://erinrussek.typepad.com/one-piece-at-a-time/ She has wonder tutorials on how to use this method. She uses template plastic when I use Layered preshrunk freezer paper. Go to Sharon Shambers website she teaches how to make templates in this way. Hope this helps. Of course there are other methods, just experiment and find the right one for you. There are a lot of tutorials for free on the web. Marjory
